Media Center Updates
Some details are out on the Update for Media Center 2005 (from the Green Button forums)
Q: So is MCE rollup 2 Free for current customers to download?
A: Yes it will be posted on the OEM site for a free update or it will be available via Windows Update in about 1 month.
Q: Will a standard cable card work with rollup 2 digital cable support?
A: We had hoped to include Cable Card support in MCE 2005 Rollup 2 but unfortunately this feature was cut and did not make the final builds for MCE 2005
Q: when is rollup 2 released?
A: Rollup 2 has been released already. It will be on Windows Update in about 1 month. It will be posted on the www.microsoft.com/oem site in about a week or so and can already be purchased from our authorized distributors as a new sku. Distis can be found at http://www.microsoft.com/oem/authdist/default.mspx
I think there will be a be a couple more features added that are not in the list, but we will see

It’s very early in the development stage but it’s clear to see that its going to be a big update.
I will be having someone from Microsoft on to talk about the Update for Media Center 2005 in the coming weeks (not sure when it will be yet) so keep listening to the Windows Media Center Show and I will try to bring all the info on the update
