No offense Ian, but this show just says to me that Mick should be a regular on your show. I have always said all shows (except maybe the music ones that just intro the tracks (what happened to Dubba?)) should have a co-host.

Even when you interviewing someone, two points of view just works (e.g. look at G’day World). Having said this, even though there is no way I could afford a Media Center in the near future, I did enjoy the show and look forward to the ones to come.

Question: For the inexperienced, whats the benifits in the sports area? Is one of the things you could see the idea of having the picture wrapped in an application that provides stats for the game? Much like Digital tv?

    All the best.

I would love Mick to be a co-host, but knowing how busy he is it may be hard to get his time.
The cost of a media center PC can vary. I noticed a $999 (US dolller) PC comming out (See this post)
Also there are ways of doing by building your own PC (via a OEM copy of MCE)
Maybe its somthing we could look at on the show

For Sports the potential for MCE has not been used really. Via Online Spotlight the stats etc as you said could be used. In Show 3 you can hear myself Charlie and zetools talked abou the future of Online Spotlight and how it could be used for Sports and other interactive TV

Keep listening to future shows for more on that.

Thanks for you feedback, I will read some out of the show if its ok with you

    Hi ian,

Great podcast. Im fan of media center and whole home theatre personal computer concept. While i know media center is very good but there are other software you can make a equally good computer similar to a mce out off.

But just like mick i am overly annoyed at the non epg for mce and those other software i was talking about. I even emailed a local tvguide site who advertise xml information services only to be told “Due to licensing restrictions, we can only provide listings to commercial
companies who produce publish via print, websites or mobile networks.” And it can be scraped or copied. That made me laugh as thats what ppl are doing to get something they could make money out of.

Anyway bye for now from a fan in melbourne australia
    keep up the good work

The content is good, but had to stop listening because the quality was so poor. Mick’s voice was constantly being interrupted, pausing, having interferance, it was so bad I had to stop listening. Please consider using a better quality source or at least editing it before posting.

Thank for the comment MCE Fan.
We had a bit of a bad day with Skype during that recording so did have to edit some bits out. Most of the other shows don’t have that problem so please give them a listen

    Cheers
    Ian
